PLR content (Private Label Rights) may be a very good resource for anyone trying to get ahead on the internet. Not only can PLR e-books and PLR articles be picked up for a comparatively low price; they also are advantageous because most of the research and writing has already been done for you.
But PLR content may be dangerous. For many internet businesses know the value of PLR e-books and articles and are using it as much as they can. In real figures, the same PLR articles and PLR ebooks may have been sold to hundreds or even thousands of customers, who then may have published the material on their websites, with or without changing it considerably.
Succeeding with PLR products
The recipe for making money with PLR ebooks and PLR articles is thus this: you must prepare to rewrite every PLR article and ebook so that it ends up being absolutely different. If you follow that rule, you will minimize the probability of being penalized by the search engines. Having unique material will at all times be a plus as seen from the point of view of the search engine robots.
Another reason is, of course, the visitors: who likes to visit a new website and read the exact same content as on one of the rival websites? So even though the search engine robots very well might have overlooked a duplicate or near-duplicate article or ebook, your visitor may perhaps not be quite as understanding. To serve your customers well, adequately rewritten articles and e-books are simply a necessity.
Yet another reason for rewriting may be this: no one thinks precisely like you. So you may discover that the PLR e-book or PLR article that you just picked up didn’t cover all the premises that you would have liked it to cover. Or maybe the writing style was not what you would have anticipated? Or maybe there were some incorrect “facts” in it? Whatever the case may be, you must plan for some serious editing of the PLR e-book or article to make it better suit the needs of you and your customers.
Here, then, are some ideas on how to change your PLR ebook or PLR article so that it can serve you and your customers better:
Alter the title
Sometimes Private Label Rights materials have ill-suited titles. As a result, you may wish to change it into a title that is more fitting. For good search engine optimisation (SEO), you should be especially careful to go for the correct title.
Note, however, that even though the PLR title is NOT ill-suited, you might still have to adjust it, to make it truly unique. In any case, you may want to play around with Google’s free keyword tool to see which title might be most suitable.
Move paragraphs
One way to “rewrite” a PLR ebook or article is merely to reorganize the paragraphs in the manuscript. By moving one paragraph before another, the total flow of the article (or ebook) could become much enhanced. And the beauty of it is that you do not have to do any typing!
Erase paragraphs
Another way to “rewrite” a PLR ebook or article would be to simply delete a paragraph or two. Sometimes (especially in low-quality PLR material) there could be a lot of fluff that simply isn’t advisable to keep, if one is aiming for a high-quality e-book or article.
Modify paragraphs
This is a method by which you in essence retain the same central ideas in the paragraph, but you express them another way. Instead of keeping the text “PLR ebooks are ebooks that have Private Label Rights”, you could rewrite like this: “PLR texts are electronic texts that grant the owner Private Label Rights.”
Enlarge paragraphs
Although extending a paragraph certainly is a way to rewrite a paragraph (and thus could potentially be a part of the previous point), I nevertheless want to keep this method as a point by itself. It is by this method that you can make your PLR article or ebook even more unique, and substantially more effective to your customers.
By expanding an article I mean extending its exact content. You can, for instance, add new points, new reasons, new arguments, new questions, or new data.
Such an expansion may now and then result in quite long paragraphs, so you might want to consider splitting up the longer paragraphs into several shorter ones. This is only a good thing, for it makes your ebook or article even more unique.
Attach Relevant Links
Some PLR content packs include useful links and keywords that were used to create the content. In some cases you might want to use those links in your articles and ebooks. In other cases you might decide to use your own product links or your own affiliate links to make more money.
Be very careful, however, with relevance. Do not add links that are not relevant to the main text. For instance, in an article on how to steam salmon, don’t incorporate an affiliate link to your “solar power” product or to another article on, say, your expertise as a dolphin trainer. Be relevant!
Some final thoughts
It is true that PLR ebooks and PLR articles may increase your online revenue if done properly. An important step toward success is to be very cautious to rewrite the articles and ebooks in such a way that they end up being not only unique but also valuable to your potential customers.
Adding other items to your e-book or article, such as graphics and videos, may make your audience even more delighted. So give your content the individual touch your readers may be looking for, and then wait for conversions!
